Dearest Reader,
(Yes, I have been watching Bridgerton.)
Ah, Galentine’s Day. A day for celebrating the love you have with your lady friends…single or not.
If you’re single, and you’re feeling down, and you need a pep talk about being single…Click HERE.
Here are some events going on around THE TON (that is Bridgerton for town…ok I’m done) that you can do to celebrate with your Galentine’s (or just whoever honestly).
Ice Sculptures, Shopping, & Paczki (Plymouth)
This weekend is the Plymouth Ice Festival! There will be over 60 ice sculptures on display.
While you’re in Plymouth, you can check out the Kiloh + Co. pop up shopping event! Kiloh + Co. is a women’s apparel and gift boutique (small locally owned biz…yay). Stop by any time on Feb 13th from 11am-1pm.
You can also stop by Cantoro’s Italian Market for a cannoli or tiramisu paczki! (See my paczki list HERE.)
Winter at Valade Park (Detroit)

Downtown Rochester + Royal Park Hotel Stay
Use your Galentine’s Weekend to have the adult version of an epic sleepover haha. Use my link for a discounted rate on a room! (You can read about my stay HERE.) The bars and restaurants are open in Downtown Rochester. The world is your oyster! Drink, roam around, and stumble back to your room. Grab some late night pizza’s to go from Park 600. Jump on the bed. Watch a movie (see the last section of this post). Drink champagne with your gals!
Manicures & Pedicures
Check out Paint Nail Salon in Rochester! They are doing a Galentine’s special through Feb 13. Come in on Friday, 2/12 or Saturday, 2/13 and enjoy rosé champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, and cookies by Luxury Sweet Treats!

Saturday is a Galentine’s event with Pure Barre, Nitty Gritty, The Bronze Bar, and Honey & Home. Come for a morning of self-care, shopping, photo ops, giveaways, music, and swag bags! (You must register for this special event.) Your registration gets you into the Barre Class and a blow out too! {$33.46}

Have a classy Galentines outing with wine and charcuterie (all your favorites) at this unique and intimate spot! (I talk more about it in my Valentine’s post HERE.)
Sherwood’s Brewery (Shelby Twp)

The Food & The Wine
Charcuterie
Any Galentine’s Get Together would not be complete without the charcuterie and wine.
For lots of delicious local options, check out my post HERE.
Wine
There are plenty of local places you can try out for wine (or sangria)! I will give you some options here, and I will list my favorite Michigan wines too. Now that bars and restaurants are open again, you can even dine in (if you’re lucky)!
Fieldstone (Rochester) Sample their wines and ciders!
Sabrosa Sangria (Shelby Twp) Go off the beaten path here. You will not be disappointed. Their sangrias are SO TASTY.
Michigan By The Bottle Tasting Room (MBTB) Locations in Shelby, Royal Oak, and Auburn Hills.
Leelanau Cellars Great Lakes Red is just a personal favorite of mine (available everywhere).
You can also make your champagne cocktails sparkle at home with this special dust HERE. (It is an affiliate link.)
Breakable Candy Heart
Oh my heart. My achy breaky heart…
Sorry. I couldn’t resist.
Nursing a broken heart? One of these should come standard with every breakup.
Take out your anger and aggression by smashing the chocolate heart (but don’t get too carried away)! There’s a surprise inside 🙂

Looking for an Anti-Valentine’s Day Gift?
I don’t think these are available anymore, but I hope they become a thing! I wanted to include them because I thought they were just so creative and funny!

Fancy not your style?
On a recent Instagram survery I did on @ThingsToDoMacomb, 72% of respondents choose tacos over chocolate for Valentine’s Day so…
Buffalo Pizza & Wings is doing a heart shaped pizza! For $6, I think this is a steal!

The Shows You Need To Watch With Your Galentines
Netflix:
Bridgerton (Obviously) – Should be at the top of your list if you haven’t already seen it. You will binge the whole thing in one night and then want to start it all over again.
Emily in Paris – I haven’t watch it yet, but it’s on my short list.
The Queen’s Gambit – Again, you will want to binge this in one night.
The Crown – So good, but so sad too. If you think you’ve been unlucky in love…just check out the royal family…YIKES!
Movies:
Pride & Prejudice – Although you can’t stream this one on Netflix anymore, it is still one of my all time favorites.
Isn’t It Romantic – It was available on Hulu. It’s kind of an anti-rom com, but still a rom com somehow. I think this is a must watch for everyone.
How To Be Single – Another great movie with a great message about relationships.
Crazy, Stupid, Love – Is just one of my all-time favorites too.
And then there’s always Sex and the City to fall back on too, because why not?
You can also go see a movie (Because We Can Finally Do That Again)!
Well, that’s all for now folks. I hope you found some ideas to keep you busy this weekend.
Take care!
