Summer Dreams Farm (Ortonville)
U-Pick is $45/person (Advance Ticket Required)
Tickets for each date are released a week ahead of time, and they go FAST!
2023 U-Pick Dates: 8/20, 8/27, 9/3, 9/10, 9/17, 9/24, 10/1
Yoga is $50/person (Advance Ticket Required)
2023 Yoga Dates: 9/3, 9/5, 9/7
This yoga session will be led by Courtney Welch, a certified instructor, and is open to all skill levels and experience. Participants need to bring their own yoga mat.
In case of bad weather, will will set up alternative dates.
Here is the schedule for these events:
September 3rd from 2pm to 3pm
September 5th from 6pm to 7pm
September 7th from 6pm to 7pm
This event includes a one hour yoga class and a bouquet of dahlias to take home. There will also be an opportunity to wander the dahlia fields, an experience you will not find anywhere else in Michigan.

Open Sunset U-Picks: 9/6, 9/13, 9/19, & 9/27 @ 6:30pm ($25-$75 depending on what size bouquet you want to build!)
Best to purchase a ticket in advance just in case they sell out!
Special Teacher Bouquet Making Night!!! If you choose this option we will have a jar ready for you and you can choose a ribbon to add. Then walk through the field and make your new teacher a back to school bouquet.
End your evening with a relaxing walk through the flowers. Bring a date, your loved ones or a friend to this beautiful summer upick. Walk amongst the rows of flowers. We promise the choices will be hard and your pitcher will fill up quickly with the selection!
Choose a Single Cup($25) that fits perfect in your cup holder, Large pitcher ($35) which fits about 1 1/2 -two bouquets in our White Pitcher Or choose to pick in or our Double Pitcher ($45) that creates two large bouquets as you go. This pitcher is great if you bring a friend, child or family member along and you want to make two together. (Pitchers are only used for picking and measuring. They are not for purchase. Please bring a separate container to take your flowers home in.)
We also have a bucket ($75) available for those looking to make multiple bouquets.
Please read carefully what you will need to bring with you when you come to the farm on our UPICK page. Please arrive at the start time. We will go through a short picking and arranging demonstration promptly at the beginning of your session. Pre-Purchased Tickets needed for all U-Pickers.
Dahlias available to add on for $10 additional per item. (Buckets not included) Buckets of dahlias will be brought out and you may add as many dahlias as you like to your bouquet. Cash and Venmo accepted on site for Dahlias.
Girls’ Night Out: 9/9 @ 5:30pm ($67.50/person Advance Ticket Required)
Come out to the farm for a quaint evening with other ladies and surround yourself with good food, drinks and FLOWERS. Appetizers will be served to compliment the evening and the drinks. You will take home your own complimentary Barefoot Blossom Glass that will be used that evening for the wine tasting. After this portion of the evening you will be free to pick your own bouquet of flowers from our field to take home in the Mason jar provided.
Evening/official wine tasting begins promptly at 5:30 and ends when you have picked the perfect bouquet. Arrive at the farm from 5:15-5:30 to have extra time to walk up from the parking lot and get acquainted with the farm.
You must be 21 years or older to attend this event. All participants must have proper ID for verification.
No alcohol will be sold by Barefoot Blossom Farm at this event
One Ticket – $67.50 – We HIGHLY recommend purchasing all your tickets at one time. This will ensure your whole party can go before the event sells out.

Henna in the Flowers: 9/15 @ 6:15pm ($45/person Advance Ticket Required)
We are super excited to welcome Jessica Starshine to the Flower farm on Friday evening 9/15 for Henna in the Flowers. Not only are we welcoming her but Maddie and Rae permanent jewelry will be here as well!! Don’t miss this event!!
Your ticket includes Henna and a Upick Experience. Permanent jewelry may be purchases separately at event.

Dreaming of Dahlias Workshop: 9/17 is unfortunately sold out already. Make sure you get on the email list so you can snag a spot next year!
Pumpkin Bouquets: 9/23 @ 3pm ($55/person Advance Ticket Required)
Fall is almost here and so is everything PUMPKIN!!! Let’s get together on the farm and create something beautiful by putting two of our favorites together: Flowers and Pumpkins.
Start the workshop by picking your perfect pumpkin/gourd. We will pre clean them out for you so the dirty work will be done!! Next we will work on designing the perfect bouquet. We will pre-pick flowers for you, including dahlias, but the field will be available to you if we missed one of your favorites.
All clippers, pumpkins, jars, flowers, and drinks will be provided.

Events held rain or shine. Only severe weather will cancel. Please dress appropiately for the weather. Event will be hosted under our pavilion.
Limited tickets sold to all of our events. To ensure everyone in your party gets a ticket, purchase all tickets together.
Tickets are non-refundable. Should you have an emergency or illness, please feel free to find someone to take your place and communicate with us who that would be.

They do speical ticketed u-picks/flower nights here, but the farm stand is usually open on Saturdays so you can pop in at will too! You won’t be able to do u-pick on a Saturday, but you can still grab a beautiful bouquet.
This is one of my favorite spots because the owners are super nice, and their farm and house is just so darn beautiful. I want to live there. She told me that people stop there randomly all the time just take pictures of their home.
Flower Night on the Farm (Advance Ticket Required): 9/11 & 9/13 @6pm; $55/person
Experience the farm in all its beauty – blooming fields and sunset skies. Tour the farm. Wander the flower fields and pick the blooms you love. Design your own gorgeous arrangement to take home. Finish the evening with dessert and watch the setting sun.

Ankley Family Farm (Imlay City)
This farm is beautiful, and they always have tons of flowers for u-pick! They have sunflower fields all season long too because they stagger their planting!
You can stop by anytime during their open hours for u-pick.
They also do several special ticketed events too including:
Dinner on the Farm, Bouquet Building, Farm Tours, & they have Ice Cream Sandwiches at the farm stand too! (They’re also a dairy farm.)

U-Pick:
We’re excited to welcome you to our u-cut flower field of over 20,000 plants! From Amaranth to Zinnias and many other varieties, you’ll find something you love. Dahlias and sunflowers are seasonal favorites! Enjoy abundant pollinators as you explore over one acre of cut flowers.
For $15, you can fill a quart jar with any flowers you like. We provide the jars and the scissors. If you do bring your own scissors please sanitize them before cutting in our field. Field and farm rules are listed below and we will have suggestions for cutting flowers listed in the farm stand. Never cut flowers before? You’ll be just fine! You can review some tips below.
We do accept recycled jars and offer a free packet of flower food for jars that are left at the farm stand to be recycled.
Buckets for picking flowers are available for $60. This is the best option if you have your own vessels that you plan to use. We calculate that you can fit about 8 u-cut jars worth of flowers in the bucket. The bucket is 2 gallons in size. You can keep the bucket, there is no deposit on it.
If you’re visiting the cut flower field only for professional photography the admission fee is $2 per person (children age 5 and under are free).

A Cut Flower Farm & Outdoor Wellness Garden
Dahlia Fest this Saturday, 9/10/23 from Noon-6pm.
Tickets are $5 at the door, and they’ll have Wood-Fired Pizza.
We started Detroit Abloom as a Cut-Flower Farm with a Kresge Grant. While we have journeyed into other areas, flower farming is our roots. We love to grow sustainable, no spray flowers. From Ranunculus and Tulips in April until the Dahlias are finished at the first hard frost!
Detroit Abloom is a model land-use demonstration project, based on using cut flower farming and the creation of native plant sanctuary gardens to re-purpose vacant blighted land. Several years ago, Tom and Nancy worked with volunteers to clean up vacant blighted lots in their Jefferson Chalmers neighborhood, when they thought of a different approach. Gradually the idea evolved that by using cut flower farming to transform vacant land, they could turn blight into exceptional beauty and make places of sanctuary for the benefit of the community. Moreover, Detroit Abloom has evolved to become an outdoor wellness garden that works with health practitioners to offer holistic workshops, classes, and programs to help enhance the surrounding community’s health and beyond.
