Rare Plant Fairy (Detroit)

Born in the guest bedroom of a downtown Detroit apartment in 2020 Rare Plant Fairy has quickly become Michigan’s premier grower of rare aroids, hoyas, and other exotic tropical plants.

We started as avid rare plant collectors — we know what excites other collectors and are always ahead of the latest trends. Most of our plants are grown and propagated in-house, but we also collaborate with growers worldwide to bring new, sustainably sourced cultivars and species to market.

We pride ourselves on catering to the needs of customers in every climate. Our expert packers carefully wrap every plant to ensure they arrive in the best possible condition. Are they going to the Rockies in December? Insulation and heat packs it is. How about Paris in the spring? We’ll make sure the phytosanitary certificate is in order. Our indoor nursery replicates most collectors’ home environmental conditions to reduce stress on our leafy friends.

The Conservatory (Monroe)

They offer classes, and they have a date night coming up too!

About their plants: Specifically chosen to thrive indoors and hardy enough to miss a watering or two, our plants are easy for anyone to care for. Green thumb not required.

John’s Not So Succi Plants (Detroit)

This is not a brick and mortar shop, but they are definitely worth a mention! Watch for their pop up sales around town. They were recently at the Michigan Lavender Festival! (Check out my post on Lavender Fields & Festivals HERE.)
