I will keep this post updated when new details emerge as the season goes along. Peak sunflower time is not until August/Sept, but that gives you plenty of time to make plans!
Also, please remember to be respectful if you visit so that these beautiful places stay open to visitors!
Some places offer U-Pick and others are just for taking beautiful photos, so please make sure before you cut any flowers!

In 2021, they had a Sunflower Festival that was Sept 4 – 6. I am keeping an eye out for their 2022 info!

They have a sunflower trail here which sounds pretty cool! They expect it to last through Labor Day! They have tons of cool photo props set up through the trail like a swing, windmill, truck, tractor, barn doors, and more!

It is $7/person if you are visiting both the sunflower field and the u-cut flower field.

Van Houtte Farms (Armada, MI) Sadly, Van Houtte Farms is permanently closing 🙁
They are usually open for u-pick on the weekends! Friday – Sunday, 10am – 6pm

Sunflower Fields In Northern Michigan & The Upper Peninsula
If you are traveling to the Upper Peninsula at all this summer (August-Sept is the best time for sunflowers), then you need to stop at this epic field. You have a window of about 2 weeks if you want to see the 20 acre sea of sunflowers. You can walk through it and take photos for free. (440,000 sunflowers) Visitors can cut them for a small fee.
They have sunflower shirts and snacks available for purchase too.
While Sunflowers are in bloom we are open from 10am to sunset.

In 2021, the sunflowers were peak from the end of July through mid-August. You’ll need to keep an eye on their social media!
When they do open for the season:
Pull in by the long red barn drive along the south side. The sunflower field is behind it. You may park along the barn and pull out the same way you came in. We have things growing on the other side of the barn along with irrigation pipe on the ground.
Please drive carefully. We have kids, chickens, cats, and a dog. If the dog gets out he’s very friendly but forgets his manners when he’s excited and jumps up on people. His name is Newt.
There’s a pond so please be cautious of that.
As always, this is our home so please respect our property and animals.
2021 Info:
We grow the sunflowers for fun and like to share it with others. Our field is open for walk throughs and photos, but we ask that (if you’re able) to leave a donation to help with the cost. There is a mail box set up at the entrance to the field. For professional photographers charging for their services, there is a $15 studio fee per session.
