Sunflower Fields in Michigan

sunflower fields michigan

This post is for sunflower fields all over the state of Michigan. If you are looking for more flower field options (lavender, dahlia, gardens, etc.), you can check out my most second most popular post of all time on those fields HERE.

*This list & map may NOT be copied or reproduced without explicit written permission* This is my copyrighted work.

Lavender is still blooming too! Check out my Lavender Fields post 🙂

I will keep this post updated when new details emerge as the season goes along. Peak sunflower time is not until August/Sept, but that gives you plenty of time to make plans!

Also, please remember to be respectful if you visit so that these beautiful places stay open to visitors!

Some places offer U-Pick and others are just for taking beautiful photos, so please make sure before you cut any flowers!

Ankley Family Farm (Imlay City, MI)

Lots of cute photo props here, events, and flower field dinners too!

There will be sunflowers blooming through Labor Day, with three fields succession planted after this one.

The fields are smaller and weedier than they’ve been in the past. We can thank it being hot, cold, dry, wet and every unwelcome combination we had in the spring and early summer for that. However, our goal is to provide a great picture spot, and we think we’ll still accomplish that.

Sunflower picture & prop trail is open for the season. Admission is $5/ person. 5 and under and free.

Our hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10am-8pm, Sunday 1-8pm and closed on Mondays. We accept cash, Venmo and cards.

Add the cut flower field for photography sessions for some excellent photos!

Our farm stand is stocked with honey, syrup, beef, chicken, ice cream sandwiches, and our fresh-grown farm produce.

Try out our u-cut flower field and our u-pick vegetable field as well!

In the foreseeable future we will not be a publicly accessed farm. We are still trying to decide how to manage social media in light of that. Thank you for your patience as we do so.

They have spirits, wines, and hard ciders here! Bonus!

Waiting on 2023 Sunflower Info.

About the Sunflower Fields (from their website): A visit to one of our sunflower fields is guaranteed to pick up your day and positively set your frame of mind!  Take time from life’s daily routines to stroll through the field, take pictures, and just sit and relax among the thousands of sunflowers in bloom.  We will have several fields this year and they bloom at different times.  Each field only lasts about two weeks.  Check back for an update on when our fields are expected to bloom, admission fees, and hours.  Professional photography sessions are available evenings and after hours for a fee.  Check our photography policy for more information on this.

You can read the photo policy HERE.

Liefde Farm (Zeeland, MI)

Liefde will not be open in 2023 due to a barn fire 🙁

This is a working family farm, so please proceed with caution and respect.

You need to enter the actual address into your GPS. The farm will not come up if you type in the name.

9400 104th Ave
Zeeland, MI

When they do open for the season:

Pull in by the long red barn drive along the south side. The sunflower field is behind it. You may park along the barn and pull out the same way you came in. We have things growing on the other side of the barn along with irrigation pipe on the ground.

Please drive carefully. We have kids, chickens, cats, and a dog. If the dog gets out he’s very friendly but forgets his manners when he’s excited and jumps up on people. His name is Newt.

There’s a pond so please be cautious of that.

As always, this is our home so please respect our property and animals.

2021 Info:

We grow the sunflowers for fun and like to share it with others. Our field is open for walk throughs and photos, but we ask that (if you’re able) to leave a donation to help with the cost. There is a mail box set up at the entrance to the field. For professional photographers charging for their services, there is a $15 studio fee per session.

Hours: Dawn to Dusk, 7 days a week
