May 26-29: Balloons Over Bavarian Inn & The Frankenmuth Dog Bowl (Frankenmuth)

Watch the Hot Air Balloons as they soar over Frankenmuth during Competition Flights on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday morning and evening and Monday morning. Don’t forget to attend the Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights Balloon Glows, where weather permitting you can walk among the Balloons while they light up their colorful envelopes and talk to the pilots and take awesome photos with the balloons! This Event is free to watch the Balloon flights and the glows!

They offer tethered balloon rides here too!

Since the beginning, Carson City Frontier Days has celebrated with Country Western shows, rodeos, magic shows, canoe races, tractor pulls, carnival rides, parades, picnics, dances, hot air balloons and pageants.

Although Frontier Days has changed over the years, one thing remains. It is a time for friends, family, and neighbors to come together to celebrate the joys of living in a small town.

The fair features free admission and an array of high-quality art in a variety of price ranges and disciplines including ceramics, jewelry, painting, photography, wood, wearable art, glass, leather and sculpture.

 

June 3-4 & 10-11, 2023: Canterbury Village Medieval Faire (Lake Orion)

Castle’s turrets and ramparts will be the backdrop for a wide range of entertainment as you stroll through this outdoor Medieval adventure at Canterbury Village. Be entertained by ogres, musicians, jesters, magicians, fire breathers, mad Queens, over 30 entertainers and more, all set to the backdrop of a real Castle!
 
Knights in shining armor jousting on their great steeds will provide all the excitement of a medieval tournament as two Knights in full armor charge each other with levelled lances, mounted on their mighty steeds, each attempting to unhorse the other! That is just the beginning of the entertainment, there will be plenty of activities for the entire family, demonstrations of actual medieval combat, along with many other entertainers. Afterwards sit and enjoy a cold drink or a pint of ale or mead and feast on a Turkey Leg, at the C-Pub Bar & Grill.

64th Annual Frankenmuth Bavarian Festival June 8-11, 2023
 
Come on out and be a part of Michigan’s largest celebration of Bavarian Heritage!
 
The 2023 Bavarian Princess will be crowned the Saturday before festival.
 
Thursday officially starts the festival with the Maypole and dancers.
 
Friday night opens the weekend with a Street Party! We are closing Main Street and opening up the fun! Fireworks will close out the party giving you time to dance the rest of the night away in the tents. Admission is free for the Street Party.
 
The Main Tent, located in Zehnder Park, will host traditional German entertainers and polka bands. You can also see local favorites performing all weekend.
 
The Rock Tent, located behind Tiffany’s Food and Spirits, will feature bands Friday and Saturday night.
 
Saturday will play host to a number of events happening through town. The Kindertag Parade begins at 10am at River Place Shops. Don’t forget to sign up and watch Saturday’s Cornhole Tournament!
 
Be sure to join us Sunday for the one and only Bavarian Festival Parade.
 
All of this and more for only $10 general admission. Kids 12 and under are free.

June 10, 2023: National Asparagus Festival (Hart)

Welcome to West Michigan, where we take pride in our wonderful agriculture. Oceana County, known as “The Asparagus Capital of the Nation”, is one of the leading areas for asparagus growth in the entire country! We’ve been celebrating asparagus since 1974 and nobody does it better. We are the longest running asparagus festival in the country and 2023 marks the 50th festival. Come join us!

Since 1974, the National Asparagus Festival has been a much-anticipated annual event. What began as a small gathering has grown into an event that draws attendees from around the world. This year marks our 50th Anniversary, and we are planning a celebration like none other. The National Asparagus Festival is a great place to come and celebrate asparagus in all its forms. Join us for a parade, a variety of delicious asparagus-inspired dishes, arts and craft vendors and much more. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

 

June 10, 2023: 21st Annual Berkley Art Bash (Berkley)

The Berkley Art Bash has been turning Twelve Mile into an art filled street party since 2001. It attracts crowds of over 10,000 that come to find hip handmade wares from over 150 artists and makers, enjoy street eats and fun kid activities.

Presented by the Berkley Chamber of Commerce, it also showcases the wonderful shops, restaurants and businesses that make downtown Berkley a thriving community. The YWCA GLBR’s Riverside Art Festival returns in 2023 for its 49th year, drawing thousands of people from around the Great Lakes Bay Region with artistry, entertainment, food trucks, and even a raffle! Artists will be located in Downtown Bay City, along the Saginaw Riverfront, on June 10th and 11th for what is sure to be a wonderful weekend for artists and visitors alike!

Artists from throughout the state and from as far away as Texas have been featured at the festival showcasing a variety of artistic works, including handmade pottery, jewelry, textiles and weaving, sculpture, watercolors, woodworking, as well as decorative items for the home and garden, clothing, and much more. In 2023, we will continue our highly selective jury process to select vendors featuring original works of art.

The amazing and talented group “Hark Up” will be providing entertainment both days from 4-9p! Parking will be a $10 donation and all events are “Weather Permitting” Bring you chairs, blankets, kites, frisbee and relax & enjoy!

 

June 17, 2023: Great Lakes Pirate Festival (Mackinac)

Join Star Line – now known as Mackinac Island Ferry Company for the 2023 Annual Great Lakes Pirate Festival! A day of food & drinks, live music, and pirate contests on the island. The festival will take place on our Mackinac Island Main Dock.
The Mackinac Pirate Adventure Tour with the Good Fortune pirate ship will feature water cannons for the kids as well as a bar for adults. The pirate ship will be ferrying passengers from our Mackinaw City Dock to the Festival on our Historic Mackinac Island Dock, in the morning, with a ticket purchase. The Pirate Ship will end the day by offering evening and Nauti (21+) cruises at 5:45 pm and 7:15 pm, departing from the Mackinac Island dock with a ticket purchase.
 
Festival admission is FREE

For an added adventure, you can purchase tickets to the Good Fortune Pirate Ship evening cruises. The night cruises leave Mackinac Island at 5:45 and 7:15 p.m. and will sail under the Mackinac Bridge. It includes pirate music and dancing, crew members dressed and talking like pirates, water cannons for kids on board, and the cruise will culminate with the firing off the Good Fortune’s cannon. Snacks and refreshments will be available for purchase during the cruise.

Each year the people of Livonia celebrate the anniversary of the founding of the City with a week-long birthday party. 

Held at Ford Field at the corner of Farmington Road and Lyndon the last full week in June (20th – 25th, 2023)

Livonia Spree has something for everyone in the family:  delicious food; great music ranging from Country to jazz; a fantastic family carnival; and of course, the Grand Finale Fireworks Extravaganza on Sunday night. 

The Men and Women of Spree have been working hard to plan another great year at Spree.

 

June 21-25, 2023: Bay-Rama Fishfly Festival (New Baltimore)

The Bay-Rama Fishfly Festival is a fun-filled five-day event attended by over 80,000 people in downtown New Baltimore. We feature a large, clean midway, Festival Tent with live entertainment, Miss Bay-Rama Queen’s Pageant, Kid’s Day Fun, a large firework display on the waterfront, a spectacular parade along Green Street, and much more!

This year’s returning features include carnival, fireworks, and the always-popular balloon launches, fly-ins, and evening glow! The festival is located in Sterling Heights, MI.

Our Festival draws thousands of friends and families from all around Michigan, Ohio, and Illinois.

Our spirited festival features live music and dancing. Highlighting our Festival are the biggest names in Polka Music, along with finest Polish Dance Ensembles in Michigan.

The festival also features the 9th Annual “Srodek’s Pierogi Eating Challenge”. This eating competition is based on consuming the most Srodek’s Potato & Cheese Pierogi you can eat in ten minutes. Last years record of 69 pierogi in ten minutes comes close to setting the record.

Try our delicious Polish Kitchen, enjoy a cocktail at the Polish Pub, or a beer at the Beer Tent. The Kielbasa Café is back with the polish nacho, polish sliders and more, or visit anyone of the many vendors that take part in this event.

There will be a Polka Mass on Sunday at 12:00 Noon.

Stroll our Outdoor Craft Show featuring over 50 different crafters displaying their fine works.

Admission to the festival is only $5, 17 and under free.  Free parking and shuttles are available.

Taco Fest presents a carefully crafted entertainment lineup that’s appealing to all ages. The Cadillac Freedom Festival is held annually, in early July, in downtown Cadillac to celebrate our nation’s freedom and independence. Over several days, the festival brings together people from all around, celebrating food, fun, family, and even a little fitness. Some key events include the parade down main street, the 5k Race, Fire on Water – Military Tribute, classic car show & the Pork in the Park BBQ Competition!

July 14-23, 2023: Michigan Brown Trout Festival (Alpena)

The Michigan Brown Trout Festival began in 1975, and is still going strong. Located on the waters of Thunder Bay in Alpena, Michigan, we are one of Michigan’s best freshwater fishing tournament, and the longest running fishing tournament in the Great Lakes. We are run by a few dedicated volunteers and the entire volunteer community of Alpena and surrounding areas.

Over the course of the 10-day festival anglers can enjoy several different fishing tournaments including the one-day Lafarge Super Tournament, the Jack Daniels Ladies Classic, our Walleye Extravaganza, and more! But if you just want to spend a few days enjoying the great fishing Thunder Bay has to offer, we have daily prizes for the largest fish, and our tournament long leaderboard for Brown Trout, Walleye, Steelhead, Salmon, and Lake Trout.

Fishing isn’t the only thing the Brown Trout Festival has to offer though! Come visit us on any day, and you’re sure to find something you’ll love! We have daily and nightly events throughout the festival – Whether it’s listening to the sounds of Michigan bands, striking up conversation with locals in our beer tent, taking your kids to the Family Fun Day, or watching the fish weigh-in, you’ll be sure to have a great time!

The State of Michigan’s Mac and Cheese Festival

In 2019, Outlier Events partnered with the Michigan Dairy Farmers and the United Dairy Industry of Michigan to host the state’s 1st Mac and Cheese Festival in Kalamazoo, MI. With massive interest growing each year, the event is traveling to new cities and locations for the first time.

Attendees can expect one of a kind mac and cheese samples, craft beers,live music, and fun activities. Each attendee will receive “all-inclusive” style tickets with food samples, beer/cider samples, a souvenir cup and more. This is an event for all ages.​​

The USA TODAY Wine & Food Experience presented by MGM Grand Detroit is coming to Detroit! This August, explore a Detroit culinary adventure that celebrates the best local food and drink. We’ve planted OVER 100,000 Sunflowers so there is more than enough room for all the Sunflower Lovers to come and enjoy the Sea of Gold.

Dozens of photo prop stations are scattered amongst the flowers to allow for perfect selfies. We have traditional black and gold sunflowers and a variety of multi-colored sunflowers to make unique bouquets.

**Last wagon taking guests out to the Sunflower fields is at 5 p.m. and the wagon returns at 6 p.m.**

Team Challenge Night

Come be part of our Second Annual Team Challenge Night in our Sunflowers.

Gather up to 3-10 friends to join your team and compete for fun prizes! Tickets are $25 per person, must be 21 or older to participate.

Come play a hilariously fun, action-packed, speed game that’s a mix of trivia, scavenger hunting, and missions to complete with your teammates!

Each team gets to pick their own team name and will receive extra bonus points towards your total for creative team costumes worn on the night off!

Sunset Sunflower Yoga:

August 2nd & 16th

Yoga near the Sunflower Fields as the sun is setting. What could be better?! Class includes a one-hour instruction by UpDog Yoga instructor, Wagon Ride to and from the Sunflower Fields, One Sunflower of your choice to cut and take home, a glass of wine after yoga, and a cider mill donut!

The Oceana County Fair is the longest running county fair in the state of Michigan. It is a 5-day event held annually at the Oceana County Fairgrounds in Hart, Michigan. Featuring food, fun, and exciting events, the fair is a great way to finish your summer in Oceana County.

The Orion Art Center proudly presents the 15th Annual Dragon on the Lake Festival in downtown Lake Orion. With Dragon Boat Races on Lake Orion, an Art Fair, a Chalk Art Contest, the Little Dragon Den, the Dragon Pub, a Tiki Tent, live music + more, this end of summer celebration can’t be missed!

The Legend of the Lake Orion Dragon dates back to sightings in the mid 1800s. What was ultimately discovered to be a childish prank is now a beloved mascot of this beautiful lake community.  Please join us as we celebrate the Dragon!  

 Dragon on the Lake serves as the nonprofit Orion Art Center’s largest fundraiser.  The  Orion Art Center works to nurture artistic spirit, with classes, camps, scholarships, exhibits and special events. There are two things we love: infusing art into the community and connecting people with each other.  

 

August 25-26, 2023: Metamora Country Days & Hot Air Balloon Festival *Hot Air Balloons*

Our premier event continues to be Metamora Country Days and Hot Air Balloon Festival.® This popular family-friendly celebration draws thousands of visitors to our community every August. Revelers enjoy local food, music, art, a parade, crafts and activities as well as the launching over 20 hot air balloons on both Friday and Saturday nights, capped off with an extraordinary fireworks display on Saturday night.

As the name implies, Metamora Country Days and Hot Air Balloon Festival ® is the definition of a small-town summer festival! Visitors are sure to enjoy the many festivities that include music, games, arts & crafts, fireworks and of course, the balloons!

Weather conditions allowing, the evening sky on Friday and Saturday will be filled with colorful hot air balloons that will launch between 5-8 p.m. from the balloon launch field a few hundred yards south of the Metamora Lions Hall. As many as 20 pilots bring their balloons to the festival.

Join us for the Jackson Civil War Muster on August 26th and 27th, 2023! We encourage visitors to interact with living historians by stepping back in time into the village of Jacksonburg, and to experience the extravagant military ball, as well as witness the excitement of two battles.

The Jackson Civil War Muster is the largest, longest running Civil War event in the Midwest. In 2022, we featured the music of Camp Chase Fife & Drum Core and the United States Christian Commission period Coffee Wagon, both of which will be returning in 2023!

Don’t forget your camera for this special two-day event as we welcome back 15+ hot air balloonists to Shanty Creek and Bellaire atop the slopes of Summit Mountain. Located behind the Lakeview Hotel from 6-8pm on Friday and Saturday evenings, teams of balloonists take flight, while the sky above Lake Bellaire comes alive with color.

SAVE THE DATE for the 4th annual Balloons Over Bay Harbor which will take place in the Village at Bay Harbor, September 22nd and 23rd.

We will be hosting some of the best pilots in the nation who compete in national festivals across the country.

There will be a schedule of flight activity throughout the weekend, so keep your “eyes to the skies” to see the beautiful balloons. There will also be “night glows” where the balloons will light up while grounded on both Friday and Saturday evenings beginning at 8pm.

There is truly no other event like this in northern Michigan!  Get up close as the pilots inflate their balloons right before your eyes on our Marina Lawns, it is truly an exhilarating experience.
