Metro Detroit Vineyards & Wineries

metro detroit vineyards

I saved these locations for their own special list because they are just that…special!

These are more than just “Wine Bars.” You get the whole “out in the country” vineyard experience. I do have a separate post just for wine bars though if that’s more your style 😉

I figured now is the perfect time to share so you can make your plans for spring and summer!

Vineyards

Youngblood’s Vineyard (Ray Twp, MI)

You get the full blown vineyard experience here. I am having trouble even describing it. It’s almost like you’re not even in Michigan anymore.

You can do wine tasting outside and wander through the vineyard.

They were so popular this past year that they closed a weekend early (in October) because their stock pile of wine was running low.

They have a brand new outdoor pizza oven to break in this season too.

Last year, we brought our own food (I splurged at Costco…haha), and we had a little wine tasting picnic. It was fantastic.

3 North Vines (Croswell, MI)

Heaters on the veranda!

About 3 North Vines from their website: 3 North Vines was founded by Nathan and Kristi in 2007, grapes planted in 2008, and opened its doors in 2014.  The couple met at MSU and formed a bond over a wine tasting class. After that their love of each other and wine continued to grow. Nate and Kristi married, landed jobs and soon realized something was missing, and that was working for something more than a pay check. They turned their hobby of making wine into a dream come true in 2007 when they literally bought the farm. They grew their business and their family, and continue to live on the vineyard today.

Green Barn Winery (Kimball, MI)

They are surrounded by four different sites where “acres of luscious grapes and fruit are used in the perfect blend of wine.”

Sulfite Free Wines & the Only Winery in St. Clair County!

Here is a little bit about their story: “Becky and Mike Wrubel were enjoying their winery-tour honeymoon when they discovered Becky was allergic to the sulfites in wine. The challenge of trying to find sulfite-free wine inspired them to convert the front half of their barn to a modern wine production facility in 2012. Years later, The Wrubels are proud to be teaching the fifth generation of their family the art of wine and mead-making without sulfites.”

Wineries/Orchards/Vineyard-Like Places

Sage Creek (Memphis, MI)

Veteran Owned Company!

They bring in food trucks (like Outlaw Smok BBQ & Luigi & Pedro Wood Fired Pizza). They have a heated patio too 😉

I linked their Facebook page up above because that has more info (in my opinion) than their website does.

Their “Puppy Love” wine goes to support A ReJoyceful Animal Rescue as well. Drink wine. Save Puppies. I’m in.

Fenton Winery & Brewery (Fenton)

Founded in 2007, the Fenton Winery & Brewery is an award winning and innovative microbrewery and Winery located on the north end of Fenton, MI. There is a public taproom, a sprawling 1.25 acre park-like Wine and Beer Garden, a full service wedding and banquet venue and a retail store for carry-out. Fenton Winery & Brewery strives to strike a balance, brewing both wine and beer with equal intensity.

Westview Orchard & Winery (Romeo, MI)

Macomb county’s 1st bicentennial farm produces fresh fruits & vegetables, & features outdoor entertainment, food, on-site bakery, seasonal u-pick & winery!

Blake’s Tasting Room (Armada, MI) & Blake’s Backyard (Almont)

I am obsessed with the frosé and the charcuterie here in the summer (in case you didn’t already know lol). I feel like I talk about it obsessively.

They also have the brand new Orchard Tap outdoor area which is so cool and so much fun!
