Mingle with merrymakers amid the smells of roasting chestnuts and warming bonfires and the sounds of carolers, fiddlers and bustling yuletide activity at Holiday Nights in Greenfield Village. Celebrated as one of the country’s premier holiday celebrations, Holiday Nights in Greenfield Village has been an annual tradition for nearly 25 years.

Explore more than 80 acres of Greenfield Village in this glimmering after-hours celebration of a beloved, heartwarming holiday. Stroll down Main Street, brimming with holiday goods, food and warm beverages, or take a ride on a historic Model T, carousel or horse-drawn wagon. Warm up in historic homes as we open the doors to centuries of favorite family traditions. From the finest tinseled detail to the fireworks-filled sky that marks each evening’s finale, make our holiday story a cherished part of your own.

We are nearing the end of the our 3rd season here at Memory Lane and that means it’s time for our favorite and most festive time of year, Christmas movies!

During the last 2 weeks we have transformed the drive-in from the ghoulish displays of Halloween to the bright and cheerful times of Christmas. Come see over 60,000 lights illuminating the entire drive-in, Christmas decorations and picture points!
 
We’ll also have Candy Cane Lane Hot Chocolate, firepits and warming stations along with your favorite treats and eats.
On the last weekend of the season we will have our Polar Express Event. Everyone in attendance will receive a Polar Express golden ticket, a silver bell, hot chocolate, a Christmas cookie, pictures with Santa and Mrs. Clause and a special gift from Memory Lane Drive In.

Cadillac Lodge is an iconic tradition in Downtown Detroit during the holidays. The family-friendly pop up features a large, heated tent filled with board games, plush seating, luxurious blankets, and roaring fireplaces.

There’s magical fun to be had the whole season through, with live music on the weekends and interactive activities. Plus, our new menu features specialty holiday cocktails and yummy bites including Detroit style chili, warm soft pretzels with beer cheese. Join us five days a week until New Years Day.

And make sure to visit the Arctic Zone too, our gingerbread house concession stand serving drinks and snacks right next to the Campus Martius Ice Rink.

Cadillac Lodge is funded by the Gilbert Family Foundation and operated by the Iconic Collection, with additional support from Bedrock and the Downtown Detroit Partnership.

Monroe Street Midway Opens!

We’ve swapped out roller skating, basketball, and mini-golf for arctic slide sledding, winter bumper cars, an indoor arcade, and puck-putt for even more fun for everyone this winter season! It’s all happening at the Monroe Street Midway (across from Campus Martius Park) from November 9 – January 7. As always, the Midway offers FREE entry to everyone.

Experience one of the largest and growing 5k traditions in the state.  Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, MI is the site to start your holiday season off with a festive run to remember.  For the last 6 years, MIS has teamed up with Nite Lites Christmas Light Show to bring you the atmosphere and backdrop for your competitive spirit.  In this charitable event, you will experience the Christmas spirit.  Surrounded by artistic holiday scenes and multitudes of animated lights, the 5K Fun Run and 5k Walk will get your holiday adrenalin pumping.  The kickoff to Michigan International Speedway’s holiday Christmas light show always starts with the energy you bring as participants.

Bike Through The Lights at Wayne County Lightfest

7:00 PM at Merriman Hollow Park

7651 N. Merriman Rd
Westland, MI

Bike riders will start at Merriman Hollow Park, ride to Warrendale Park and back (approximately 16K). Participants can turn around at any point. Hines Drive will be closed to vehicle traffic for the event. All riders must wear a helmet and have a light due to two-way bike traffic.

A long sleeve 2023 Lightfest shirt and bike light is guaranteed to the first 500 participants. There will also be refreshments after the ride.

Wayne County Lightfest Run/Walk (Westland)

The Wayne County Lightfest Run/Walk will take place on Wednesday, November 15 at 7:00 PM at Merriman Hollow Park in Westland.

The first 1,200 participants will receive a 2023 Lightfest long sleeve shirt, medal and refreshments at the finish line.

The start line is at Merriman Hollow Park in Westland, which is located at 7651 N. Merriman Road. The finish line is located at Warrendale Park near the Hype Recreation Center (23302 W. Warren Avenue in Dearborn Heights). Hines Drive will be closed to vehicle traffic for the event.

Please park at the start area and shuttle busses provided by SMART will transport you back to Merriman Hollow after the event.

Wayne County Lightfest Opening Day (Westland)

The Wayne County Lightfest is magical five-mile stretch of Hines Park, displaying nearly 50 animated themed displays and more than 100,000 lights. (For the full list of Where To See Christmas Lights in Metro Detroit, >>Click Here<<)

Starts on Thursday, 11/16 & Runs Every Wed-Sun through Sunday, 12/24/23

6pm – 10pm

Cars: $5 cash
Commercial Van/RV/Limo: $20 cash

There will be two food trucks and a mailbox for Santa Letters.

Wayne County will offer radio alerts to update visitors with important show information. By tuning into AM 1640 within three to five miles of the Lightfest entrance, visitors can receive regular updates on wait times, traffic flow, special event and event costs.

During the Lightfest, Hines Drive closes to traffic for set-up and operations from 5:00 PM – 11:30 PM from Ann Arbor Trail to Outer Drive.

Special Lights On Ceremony on Thursday, 11/16/23 at 6pm

There will be refreshments, music, fireworks and a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus at the Lights On Ceremony. After the opening ceremony, participants will be the first to drive through the 2023 Lightfest with free admission until 7:00 PM.

The event is free and pre-registration is not required.

Toy Night, which allows visitors to donate a new, unwrapped toy in lieu of paying the car entrance fee, will take place on Wednesdays, November 22, November 29, December 6 and December 13, 2023. Commercial vehicles will not be considered for free admission.

If you are looking to pre-purchase tickets for employees, friends or family in advance, you can purchase tickets at the Nankin Mills Interpretive Center in Westland Monday – Friday from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the walk-up window starting November 20.

Pre-paid tickets can be purchased with cash, check or Visa/Mastercard or over the phone with a credit card by calling (734) 261-1990 and tickets will be mailed to you. Please note that tickets purchased in person at the Lightfest are the same price but must be paid by CASH only.

In addition, bus groups can pre-register their busses and pay ahead of time by check, Visa/Mastercard or cash. Please call (734) 261-1990 for more information but bus pre-registration must be done at least one week ahead of time.

In partnership with UMAISE, this inclusive experience will incorporate sensory adaptations and a wheelchair-accessible layout. Families can pre-register for December 2 between 4:30PM – 6PM, or December 8 between 1PM – 3PM.

20th Annual Tree Lighting

Last year the actual lighting was at 7pm…I have not heard about a time for this year though.

What is in store for you: Stellar performances by Olympic figure skaters, the best skaters in metro Detroit and live musical acts, holiday shopping, food trucks, unique lighting attractions across Downtown Detroit and more!

The Detroit tradition will center around a 64-foot Michigan-grown Norway spruce decked out with ornaments and illuminated by thousands of shimmering LED multi-colored lights – after a countdown by Santa. WXYZ-TV Channel 7 will also once again serve as the official broadcast partner of the annual Detroit Tree Lighting ceremony, offering complete coverage of the event during a one-hour live special, “Light Up the Season,” beginning at 7 pm. Those who prefer to view the show indoors or from the comfort of their own home can tune in to the one-hour special broadcast on their televisions, online and on all streaming devices.
 
TREE LIGHTING SPECIAL GUEST PERFORMANCES
 
-Nathan Chen, one of the biggest names in the world of men’s figure skating, will perform on the Rink at Campus Martius Park Presented by Visit Detroit. Chen took home the gold and silver medals at the 2022 Olympics, is a three-time World Champion.
 
-Headlining the MGM Detroit Main Stage at Campus Martius Park will be award-winning, acclaimed American country singer and Flint, Michigan native Miko Marks. Marks was named an inductee to CMT’s “Next Women of Country” class of 2022.
 
-Adding to the impressive headline talent Paul Russell, social media sensation, whose viral hit song ‘Lil Boo Thang’ has garnered millions of views on TikTok.
 
-Broadway star Talia Suskauer currently playing Elphaba in WICKED on Broadway, will be delivering an exceptional vocal performance.
 
-Anna Cobb, a professional figure skater and choreographer from Flint, Michigan, Recently, Cobb toured with Disney On Ice, dazzling crowds with her mesmerizing performance as Elsa from “Frozen.”

CURFEW:
Minors are welcome to attend the Tree Lighting from any approved public area. However, for their safety, minors ages 17 and under must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian or other responsible adult (age 21 or over) while they attend the event.

 

Light Up Beacon Park (Detroit)

Holiday Lighting Spectacular

Beacon Park is transforming into a winter wonderland and pop-up seasonal gathering space. We can’t wait for you to join us!
Kick off the holiday season during Light Up Beacon Park on Friday, Nov. 17, from 4 – 9 p.m.
 
Families can watch our 20-foot, Michigan-grown Children’s Tree come to life, with ornaments decorated by local Detroit children, during the tree lighting at 6 p.m. Plus, spend some time with Santa and Mrs. Claus, meet real reindeer, groove to live music and feast on delicious food truck fare. And don’t forget the “Polar Express” rides – they’re free for all!
 
Guests are invited to experience “Northern Lights” with larger-than-life light features, including a 15-foot Infinity Snow Globe, a gigantic walkthrough snowflake and gleaming polar bears. We’re lighting up the park with 125,000 LED-efficient dazzling bulbs, all 95% recyclable.
 
New this year will be the addition of Beacon Park’s “Design Haus,” which opens with Light Up Beacon Park festivities.
 
Additional dates will be open to the public in November and December. The indoor heated space will feature live entertainment, art installations, themed décor, visual displays, photo backdrops, along with a winter cocktail spritz bar by Lumen Detroit. This Detroit destination is the perfect place to visit all season long. Join us from Nov. 17 to Jan. 16, 2024 and immerse yourself in the winter spirit at Beacon Park.

Canterbury Village Tree Lighting (Lake Orion)

An annual tradition! Canterbury Village kicks off the holiday season with the lighting of our 45-foot, music synchronized, dancing lights Christmas tree!
 
This festive event is fun for the entire family, complete with entertainment and carolers. Stores throughout the quaint village are open for holiday shopping, old fashioned carolers provide a musical atmosphere, and beloved holiday characters (including SANTA and the GRINCH!) will visit with the children! Outdoor fire pits will be stationed throughout the village for warmth, and we’ll have hot cocoa and warm cider available for purchase.
 
This event is FREE to attend, and the community is encouraged to come together and bring a donation to help support The Village Food Pantry.

45 Foot D

There will be another special event at the Village Saturday, 11/18 – Sunday, 11/19 called the Cocoa Stroll!

The Stroll will take place 11am – 3pm both days!

Tickets are $2 per person at the door. Admission is free for children under two, active military and veterans.

The village hopes you will also bring your best canned and non-perishable food to benefit The Village Food Pantry.

Shops across the village will offer samples of hand-crafted cocoa treats, and adults can enjoy special cocoa cocktails. The shops are bringing out their best creations as they compete for the Best Cocoa Award, which will be decided by guests at the Cocoa Crawl.

Festival of Trees Cocktail Preview in Downtown Rochester

Tickets are $50

The Downtown Rochester Festival of Trees is a holiday spectacular unlike any other, featuring trees, wreaths, and centerpieces designed and donated by the Metro Detroit community.

This is your opportunity to get a sneak preview (and first choice) of the gorgeous themed trees, wreaths, centerpieces and more, designed and donated by the Metro Detroit community. The event will include refreshments, silent auction and a cash bar. Plus, you’ll have the chance to bid on all the holiday items before the event opens to the general public on November 18 – 19. Proceeds benefit The Big, Bright Light Show.

The event will be open to the public on Saturday, November 18 from 10 am – 8 pm and Sunday, November 19 from 10 am – 5 pm at our The Rochester Community House (816 Ludlow). Admission is free.

All proceeds benefit The Big, Bright Light Show.

Guess who’s coming to Town? Join the thousands of parade-goers as the holiday season officially kicks off with the Holiday Lighted Parade. Bands, dancers, floats, and of course, Santa, make this annual favorite a great family tradition!
 
The Parade begins at 6:30 PM and will be followed by the official tree lighting in Town Square, Downtown Northville at 8:00 PM
This year’s theme is ” From the North Pole to North-Ville”
 
The Northville Holiday Lighted Parade is a FREE event. Don’t let anyone try to sell you tickets, because it is FREE, FREE, FREE, to all spectators.

Sip on cocoa provided by the Grosse Pointe Boat Club, listen to carols sung by the Grosse Pointe South Choir and make some yummy s’mores! Characters from the North Pole will be visiting, outdoor movies, photo ops and fun await visitors of all ages!

Making a reservation online is your best bet to getting in without a wait! They only do reservations for groups of 2-6 people. Reservations for the pop-up are live on their website!

It is a $10 deposit/person to reserve a spot. Deposits are only refunded when your group arrives. If you do not show, your deposit is forfeited. If you cannot make it, you are welcome to transfer your reservation to another person. Seats are held for 15 minutes past the reservation time. Arrival more than 15 minutes late will result in a forfeited deposit.

For groups of 2 or less, seating is reserved for one hour. Reservations are 1.5 hours for groups of 3 or more. If no groups have reserved and there are no groups waiting to sit, they will happily continue serving you.

Holiday Stroll will be the most memorable experience of the holiday season. Canterbury Village transforms to a winter wonderland to provide a true Holiday setting that brings the spirit of Christmas to life!

This family friendly event is hosted outdoors where you stroll through the quaint Village that is glowing with almost a million festive lights, enjoy a 7-minute amazing light show choreographed to classic holiday songs, and enjoy the sounds of professional carolers, and live Christmas performances.

Experience recreations of favorite holiday scenes throughout, live holiday characters roaming to greet guests, and classic characters like Frosty, Buddy The Elf, The Grinch, Olaf, Jack Frost, Anna and Elsa and more! The Children’s Caroling Corner will showcase some classics songs on a large screen for everyone to sing along, while enjoying smores and hot chocolate.

Also, on the C-Pub outdoor patio enjoy a variety of beers, hard ciders, wine, and cocktails surrounded by firepits and the sounds of Christmas carols.

The holidays would not be complete without a visit with Santa Claus, along with free photos by professional photographers. In addition, Santa’s personal mailbox will be in place and children can bring their letters, with special delivery directly to the North Pole.

The Dickens Lighted Parade is the official start of the festival and holiday season in Holly, filling the sights and sounds of Downtown Holly with amazing floats, music, dance, and more!

The parade lines up in the parking lot of the VFW on Airport Road in Holly, then heads down Saginaw Street towards Downtown, then onto Civic Drive where the tree lighting ceremony takes place, followed by a very special visit Santa himself!

Most areas of Holiday Walk are accessible to wheelchairs and power scooters. Strollers are only permitted on the main level and must be checked at the Visitor Services desk for the upstairs portion of the tour.

All outdoor areas of Winter Wonder Lights are accessible to strollers, wheelchairs and power scooters. Strollers are only permitted on the main level during the optional leg of the tour inside Meadow Brook Hall.

Winter Wonder Lights features a variety of food and drinks, ranging from concession snacks such as popcorn and glow-in-the-dark cotton candy. Seasonally-inspired beverages, cocktails and kid-friendly drinks are available.

Sperry’s Santa Parade (Port Huron)

The official start of the holiday season begins with the Sperry’s Santa Claus Parade as we welcome Santa Claus to historic Downtown Port Huron at 6PM!
 
Following the parade, Santa will pull the switch lighting Downtown Port Huron’s Christmas Tree! The community is invited to take part in this magical night of lights, music and all things Christmas!
 
The parade will begin at 6pm sharp at Glenwood Ave, heading South to the corner of Military and Water St, where the new Downtown Port Huron Christmas Tree will be located.
 
Stay tuned for fun things happening after the Lighting Ceremony.

The parade route will be: Division, Havenridge, Clark and Main Street. The parade will end at Fountain Park where we will have our Annual Tree Lighting!
 
Grand Marshal to be announced.
 
Line up for the parade will be at 5:30PM on Division.

Clawson’s Annual Tree Lighting

Memorial Park; 6:30pm
 
Mark your calendars for this kickoff to the winter holidays! Join us on Wednesday, November 29th at Memorial Park just outside the Blair Memorial Library.
 
We’ll start with some caroling led by the Clawson Choir and other members of the community at 6:30pm and Santa will arrive by fire truck around 6:45pm to light the tree! Afterwards, we’ll head across the street to the Community Room at City Hall for some cookies, hot chocolate and more music from the Clawson String Orchestra.
 
We’ll also collect gift cards for the Clawson Goodfellows “No Child Without A Christmas” program. The Goodfellows will then distribute those directly to local families in need this holiday season.

Romeo Village Tree Lighting w/Santa

7pm-8:30pm; Downtown Romeo & Village Park

FREE, FAMILY EVENT

Be a part of this Village Tradition! It all begins with a parade up Main Street followed by a celebration in the park. We’ll light the Christmas tree, listen to holiday music, enjoy treats, roast Chestnuts over an open fire, write & mail letters to the North Pole, and visit with SANTA!

Free photos with Santa at the library after the tree lighting until 8:30pm
 
 
There will be a hot chocolate stand, kids crafts at the Kris Kringle Castle, marshmallow roasting, horse-drawn carriage rides, the “Holiday Express” train display,and a live reindeer.
