Fri, 10/21 Hallowe’en at the Crocker House (Mt. Clemens)
“Hallowe’en at the Crocker House.” will be on Friday, October 21st from 6 to 10 P.M. and is catered to more an adult / young-adult audience. This evening event will be an experience of the old Crocker House that you’ve never seen before. The house will be candle lit and you’ll be able to experience the house with all new exhibits. We will even have fortunes being told in the formal parlor.
We’ve invited the “Third Eye Eclipse Paranormal Society” to the grounds on that night to help summon the spirits from the other side. You’ll be able to ask questions from the spirits who choose to visit us that night. Could be a Crocker, a resident from the past or just a spirit passing through to pay us a visit? This paranormal group will allow you to speak to the spirits as they tell their own story. Caution —we cannot predict or censor what spir- its might say to you!
We have also teamed up with the incredible “Anatomy of Death Museum” in Mt. Clemens to help round out our event. Owner Todd will bring the obscure and unusual from his personal collection of mortuary items and give the history of their use. Beware, some of these items just might make your hair stand up on end!
We also are exploring the fascinating history of Hallowe’en and highlighting the incredible artwork of the Beistle Company, who has manufactured Hallowe’en decorations for over 100 years. We will also be showcasing vintage and antique items from Hallowe’en past from a personal collection throughout the entire home and grounds.
The night will round out with folklore & tall tales being told around the campfire. Share your own ghostly experiences with others and listen in amazement of out of this world things that have
happened in the area. Be sure to ask about the woman with the red bandana; truly a creepy story from a century ago!
Tickets are only $5 to attend. You can purchase them online from our web site or purchase them at the door. Get your tickets early, as we’ve seen a lot of interest in this event so far!
Fri, 10/21 – Sun, 10/23: Harvest Moon Hayrides (Upland Hills Farm, Oxford)
More dates available too!
Take a Family Friendly Evening Hayride at the Farm on Friday and Saturday Nights!
Admission includes a fresh donut, hot or cold cider, a hayride and access to our roaring bonfires (don’t forget the smores and hotdogs for over the fire). This is a family friendly event and is not haunted. This is a great event for group gatherings. Tickets can be purchased at the admission booth upon arrival or in advance.
Fri, 10/21: Historically Haunted Detroit: The Dark Side of Halloween
From the days of the French settlers and the ghouls who tormented them, to the grim realities of early factories and their gruesome death tolls; Detroit is a town with a devilishly scary past. Its citizens have long straddled the line between good and evil, and more than a few rules have been broken over the years. As Halloween approaches we can all spare a nervous glance towards Detroit’s darker side. It’s never wise to travel alone through the storied corridors of history, so we willingly offer ourselves as your guides on this macabre journey through the Motor City’s darkest historical moments.
From Detroit’s funerary practices of days gone by to the enduring legacy of the only remaining military fortification in “Ol’ Sto-Town”. From the strange goings-on of a century and a half old bar to the spooky happenings of the Detroit River’s waters- the Motor City has its fair share of spine tingling moments.
Together with your guide you’ll learn the stories that have intrigued, scared, and delighted Motown’s residents including the tale of the Nain Rouge; Detroit’s own “Demon of the Strait” whose appearance has been the vanguard of tragedy and misfortune for over three centuries. Explore the awe inspiring master magician Harry Houdini’s straight jacket escape high over Grand Circus Park. Mobsters, soldiers, ghosts, social injustices, cemeteries, murders, pranks, devil’s night, assassinations, hauntings, outbreaks of cholera, unexplained disappearances, wars, tricks, treats, and more await you on the all new Historically Haunted Detroit: The Dark Side of History Tour.
It is our great and terrified pleasure to offer a historic, haunted bar, refreshment stop during this tour, purchases are at the guests own expense and cash is preferred to quicken bar service. Drinking alcohol is not allowed on the bus. Coolers, flasks, and bottles of blood, will NOT be permitted. Complimentary bottled water is provided to all guests.
To best enjoy the tour, guests should be prepared to walk ⅓ of a mile at a leisurely pace over uneven terrain. We highly recommend comfortable, flat shoes. Photography is permitted (encouraged) on this tour.
Please, eat before boarding the tour as none of the stops offer substantial food options during our limited stay.
The tour departs from: The Detroit History Club (a former funeral home turned history lovers hang out) 3103 Commor, Hamtramck, MI 48212. Parking is on the street and may require guests to walk a short distance. Doors to the club open 30 minutes before the ticketed start time of their tour. At which time guests are invited to come inside, check into the tour, and relax until the departure time. Late arrivals will not be admitted, all Detroit History Tours start on time and depart without a grace period.
Your order confirmation email will serve as your only ticket- nothing will ship to your address. Please save your email and be prepared to show it on your phone or printed to board the bus. (We do this to avoid the ticketing fees that come along with ticketing systems. The price of your ticket will remain the same throughout checkout with no added fees or service charges.)
If you have a large group consider booking any of our fabulous tours as a private charter. We can arrange to pick your group up from any location, on any day and any time. Check out our Private Tours link for more information.
Because drinking and swearing come with the history, this public bus tour is strictly 21 years old and older.
Transportation is provided via luxury motor-coach outfitted with leather captains chairs for each guest. The motor-coach is equipped with an on board bathroom.
$55.50 Thursday and Sunday, as well as Saturday daytime tours. $62.75 Friday and Saturday night tours. All taxes and fees are included in the ticket price. Zero booking charges apply.
