Labor Day Weekend is here! This is your weekend events update for Thurs, 9/1 – Mon, 9/5!

(This list is not exhaustive, but I did pick as many events as I could cover that I think would apply to the most people!)

 

Romeo Peach Festival (Romeo)

Thursday, 9/1 – Monday, 9/5

Hosted by the Romeo Lions Club

The Romeo Peach Festival is back for its 91st year!
 
This year you can expect all your favorite events and activities including carnival rides and games, 5K / 10K race, food vendors, live music (Family Tradition Band play on Sunday), refreshment tents, car show, pancake breakfast, parades and more!
 
Admission:
Thursday and Monday: FREE
 
Friday, Saturday, Sunday: $5 daily admission to the Romeo Lions Field & Property starting at noon, children 12 and under get in FREE.
 
All proceeds benefit Lions Club charities

Soaring Eagle Arts Beats & Eats (Downtown Royal Oak)

Friday, 9/2 – Monday, 9/5

The festival offers more than 200 live performances on nine stages, a highly ranked Juried Fine Arts Show, and over 40 local restaurants with some of the finest cuisine in metro Detroit.
 
Each year international, regional and local attractions at the festival make the City of Royal Oak the premier destination for Labor Day weekend.
 
Chase Rice is performing on country night!

Blake’s Sunflower Days (Armada)

Sat, 9/3 – Mon, 9/5

Join us for Blake’s Annual Sunflower Festival, September 3rd – 5th at Blake’s Orchard & Cider Mill.
 
Stroll through the fields of sunflowers, shop from our open-air artisan market featuring 100+ local artists. Walk to the sunflower field, enjoy DIY workshops, receive access to our sunflower maze with endless photo opportunities and more!

My personal note on this one: Last year was the first year they did this festival. There were some kinks that needed to be addressed! I’m hoping that they worked things out and this year goes much smoother and better!

Labor Day Bridge Walk (Mackinaw City)

Monday, 9/5

Free! (No fee or registration)

The bridge will be closed from 6:30am – Noon.

(Even if you’re not walking, it’s a nice FYI of the closure!)

Please be advised that you need to organize your own transportation back across. You’ll probably only be walking one way 😉

Hopping on a ferry might be a good option!

Harsen’s Island Cornhole Classic Fundraiser (Harsen’s Island)

Sat, 9/3 – Sun, 9/4

12:30pm Registration/ Practice
 
1:00pm Tournament Starts
 
First Tournament is $20/person
Single Game, Double Elimination
 
Bring your own bags. (If you don’t have bags, no need to worry. We will have bags to use.)
 
Exact payouts and place will depend on the amount of players.
 
No coolers allowed!!!!! Beer and food will be available for additional purchase.
If anyone is staying home and looking for something fun to do, come check this out.
