Thursday, November 17

Sing & Stroll Tree Lighting (Lake Orion)

5pm – 7pm @ Children’s Park

Start the holiday season off right with our Tree Lighting Ceremony!
 
The evening will start off with performances by Broadway Dance Company and the Lake Orion High School Choir & Dance Teams, other diverse cultural dances followed by the Tree Lighting and then Carolers.
 
Santa & Mrs. Claus will be there along strolling for photo ops! Grab a complimentary cup of Cocoa and roast marshmallows over an open fire manned by our favorite Boy Scouts!
 
Lastly, when the event is over ride the horse & carriage while the carolers stroll through Downtown. The Horse & Carriage Rides will be happening on certain days throughout the season!

 

Friday, November 18

Campus Martius (Detroit)

19th Annual Tree Lighting

5pm – Midnight

Open to the public!

Last year the actual lighting was at 7pm…I have not heard about a time for this year though.

Countdown by Santa, Live Entertainment on Ice and on Stage, Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides, Food Trucks, and of course Ice Skating!

This Year’s Entertainment Lineup Includes:

Light Up Beacon Park (Detroit)

Holiday Lighting Spectacular

5pm – 11:30pm

Santa Visits, A Heated Winter Lodge, Food Trucks & Bars Courtesy of Lumen, Live Music and Lighting of the Michigan-grown Detroit’s Children’s Tree.

There will also be a live stream of the 19th annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at Campus Martius Park as well as Free Shuttles being provided to ferry attendees between the two events from 4:30 pm until midnight.

Children of all ages are invited to experience “Toyland” at Beacon Park with larger-than-life light features, including a Choo-Choo Train, Giant Teddy Bear and other photo moments. These new and returning interactive lighting features, totaling more than 125,000 twinkling LED lights will illuminate Beacon Park. We encourage you to visit anytime from November 18th through mid-January 2021.

Canterbury Village (Lake Orion)

5pm – 8pm

45 Foot Dancing Christmas Tree!

Treats & Entertainment:

  • Hot Cocoa & Hot Cider Stations
  • Outdoor Fire Pits

There will be another special event at the Village Saturday, 11/19 – Sunday, 11/20 called the Cocoa Stroll!

The Stroll will take place 1 pm – 3 pm both days!

Tickets are $2 per person. Admission is free for children under two, active military and veterans.

The village hopes you will also bring your best canned and non-perishable food to benefit The Village Food Pantry.

Shops across the village will offer samples of hand-crafted cocoa treats, and adults can enjoy special cocoa cocktails. The shops are bringing out their best creations as they compete for the Best Cocoa Award, which will be decided by guests at the Cocoa Crawl.

Blake’s Holiday Extravaganza (Armada)

Kick off the holidays with the festive tree lighting on Sat., Nov. 19 as we set a massive tree aglow!
 
In the spirit of the season, guests are invited to decorate a special Giving Tree benefitting Rainbow Connection.
 
All weekend long, guests can enjoy the sounds of carolers and live music, visit with live reindeer, experience a horse drawn carriage ride, take a train ride to see Santa, shop for unique gifts at the Artisan Market, complimentary holiday crafts for kids and so much more.

Big Bright Light Show (Downtown Rochester)

(Ok, so there is no tree, but this one is still a big deal when the lights go on for the season!)

6pm – 9pm

Monday Nov 21, 2022 – Jan 21, 2023

The Facebook event page says 7pm on the 22nd for the lighting, but I’d get there early FOR SURE.

The lights will be on every evening from 5pm-Midnight through January 21!

Saturday, November 26

Village of New Haven Parade of Lights & Tree Lighting (New Haven)

6pm! The parade route will be: Division, Havenridge, Clark and Main Street. The parade will end at Fountain Park where we will have our Annual Tree Lighting!
 
Our Grand Marshal will be our own Rose Cellar Florist: Barbara Ramseyer!!!
 
Line up for the parade will be at 5:30PM on Division.
 
After the Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony join us at the New Haven Fire Hall (57775 Main Street, New Haven, MI, 48048) for our Annual Kris Kringle Cookie Contest, a light snack and a visit with Santa!

 

Thursday, December 1

Christmas Aglow (Shelby Twp)

See Santa, hear some of your favorite Christmas carols and join us to share in the spirit of Christmas as we light the big tree.

Then, visit with the jolly guy fireside inside the new library.

We’ll have kids’ crafts, cookies and hot chocolate, a marshmallow roast, and horse-drawn wagon rides. Don’t forget your wish list!

 

Friday, December 2

Holiday Tree Lighting & After Glow (Macomb)

The Macomb Township Parks and Recreation Department cordially invites you to join us as we welcome the holiday season with our Annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony.
 
This FREE event begins outside with caroling, the arrival of “Santa” & the Holiday Lighting display.
 
Then join us inside the Recreation Center for a warm festive celebration including: Refreshments, Crafts, Music, Live Reindeer, Photos with Santa & Giveaways! Start a “New” tradition or ‘Carry on’ the tradition!
 
 
 
Celebrate the start of the holidays at our Holiday Fest Friday, December 2nd at 7 pm.
 
This event will be OUTDOORS with TONS to do so please dress accordingly.
 
Enjoy the tree lighting, holiday decorations, ice sculptors, characters, holiday music, glow sticks, magic show, snacks, giant Candyland slide, Clydesdale, drop off your letters to SANTA and more!

Winterfest Parade & Tree Lighting (Taylor)

The annual Winterfest 5k, Parade, Tree Lighting and Firework display is BACK!

Schedule:

The Sheridan Open Air Pavilion opens at 4 p.m. so you can stop by for live music, a hot cocoa, food, a photo with the grinch and more, on your way to watch the parade.

The parade steps off at 5 p.m. from the Taylor Recreation Center, and ends at the Sheridan Open Air Pavilion in Heritage Park. Parade generously sponsored by SBK Orthodontics!

The Tree Lighting and Firework display will immediately follow the parade (approx. 6:15 p.m.). Tree Lighting generously sponsored by Al’s Asphalt!

 

A Sterling Christmas 2022 (Sterling Heights)

Everyone is invited to ring in the holiday season with a variety of family fun activities at the 45th annual “A Sterling Christmas”!
We will have tree lighting, holiday music with caroling, visits with Santa, a petting farm, refreshments, pony rides, horse-drawn wagon rides, train rides, ice skating, warming fires and much more!

Meet at Alfred & Washington for the tree lighting and sing-a-long with Santa then follow along to the New Baltimore Civic Club for Cookies and Selfies with Santa.

Downtown Utica Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration 

The city of Utica is excited to announce our 2022 Downtown Utica Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration.
 
This year’s event is going to the biggest and best yet!
 
Highlights include:
