Not everyone is going to like you.
Be yourself anyway.
Friends come and go.
There will be different people around you for the different seasons of your life.
If you’re really lucky, you will find a few good ones who will be with you all the way.
Find a way to enjoy each season.
Don’t get so caught up in mourning the passing of one season that you forget to enjoy what you have right now.
The one constant about life is that it changes.
Find a way to be happy in spite of the struggles. My life is not perfect, but I try to find a way to enjoy it and be happy every day.
I have found that when you truly love life, when you work on yourself, and when you love yourself, people naturally gravitate toward you.
Even then, sometimes I still find myself feeling surprised when someone wants to be my friend.
If you can relate to that, maybe you have been telling yourself the story of “I’m not good enough” for much of your life too.
You are worthy and you are good enough just as you are now.
You can’t force friendships.
There have been many times in my life where I have felt friendless and alone. Those times will pass. Keep pushing forward.
Speak kindly to yourself. Give yourself grace.
You’re going to make mistakes.
This one has been so hard for me because I always want everything to go perfectly all the time. I never want to mess up, but living with that mindset is paralyzing.
Sometimes you just have to stop being so cautious. You only get one shot at this life.
You’ll regret the things you didn’t do and the conversations you didn’t have more than the ones you did.
So be brave. You’ll be afraid. The only time a man can be brave is when he is afraid. (Thanks for that one Ned Stark.)
The fear and doubt will ALWAYS come up.
Maybe there are no mistakes (when you’re making decisions from a good place). You have the experiences you have and meet the people that you do for a reason…to become the person you’re meant to be.
The thrill comes from climbing the mountain. The satisfaction comes from overcoming the obstacles to get to the top…not from actually making it there.
