My Stay At The Royal Park Hotel

royal park front

Before I started Things To Do Macomb, I didn’t even know that this gem existed!

The Royal Park Hotel is located in Downtown Rochester Hills, MI, tucked away on a quiet little street just a short walk away from all of the restaurants and shopping on Main Street. (There is a little surprise for all of my readers at the end of this post!)

I have been posting about them for a while now in my Igloo Dining Post and my Heated Patio and Tent Dining post. They reached out to me and invited me to come out for a night to experience it all for myself. All opinions expressed here are my own.

When I was driving up, I remember thinking, “Wow! I feel like I’m back on campus in Ann Arbor. This is such a beautiful building! I wonder what this place is?” Then I realized it was the hotel haha.

Check-in was quick and easy! The staff is very helpful and kind. There is free parking onsite too. Usually they offer valet, but things are little different at the moment due to Covid.

When I visited on 1/16/21, the Christmas decor was still up. It will be up until the end of January. Isn’t it beautiful though? If you’re looking for a spot to take some nice Christmas photos…this would be it!

The Room

I have been to London a few times now. It is one of my favorite cities in the world. I should have known by the name ROYAL Park Hotel what the decor and vibe would be like (laughing at myself). My room was giving off all of the London vibes, and I loved it. You definitely feel like you are surrounded by elegance in your room, in the lobby, at every turn really.

I have been missing travel so much, and this little weekend out did the trick for me! It was the perfect little getaway that was still close to home. I know I keep saying this, but it was so good for my mental health. I didn’t know just how much I needed it.

My room was super quiet and very clean. THE BED WAS THE MOST COMFORTABLE hotel bed I think I have ever slept on.

I am a stickler about cleanliness when it comes to hotels. I am also very picky about hotel bathrooms, and The Royal Park Hotel exceeded all of my expectations!

The hotel is also situated right next to the river.  I had a beautiful view from my room, and I had brunch out on the heated patio with river views the next morning too.

The Amenities

Check out this gorgeous library! I really wanted to take a minute to sit and relax by the fire, but I just had too much to do!

Royal Park also has Snow Globes (igloos) Through March.

Snow Globe Details:

$150 rental fee

Food & Beverage Minimum does apply.

The Belgium Glass Conservatory, Royal Grand Ballroom, and Park Pavillion are also beautiful for weddings, bridal showers, etc. I can’t wait to go back to see the Conservatory and gardens in the spring and summer.

& Don’t miss Park 600 for Dinner or Brunch or both!

Park 600

Park 600 is the restaurant inside of the hotel. They have both a heated patio & tent open for dining (and indoor dining is opening at 25% capacity on Feb 1st)! You are going to want to grab your reservation fast!

It is still pretty cold for the outdoor dining, so dress warm. You can bring your own blankets along, but the restaurant also has blankets to loan out too.

I recommend a long coat, boots, gloves…you know the drill (unless you can snag a spot inside).

For dinner, I had the surf and turf special, which was absolutely AMAZING.

Brunch was excellent too!

Downtown Rochester/Main Street

During my stay, the Rochester Snowglow was happening! There is always something going on downtown whether you’re looking for shopping or for other dining options too. (I bought my cowboy boots from the Arizona Saddlery!)

Make sure you take advantage of the Travel Like A Local Offers available to you when you are an overnight guest at the hotel!
